Spread across approximately 6,050 square metres, the facility will provide safe shelter, care and rehabilitation for stray dogs with modern infrastructure designed to ensure their welfare and well-being. Also visited Delhi’s only cremation centre for small animals, and advised MCD to actively involve animal welfare organisations, dog lovers, veterinarians and subject experts so that their experience and knowledge help shape these initiatives in a sustainable and compassionate manner. This project is a fine example of public-private partnership, with the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation’s CSR support enabling its development at zero cost to the MCD, further strengthening Delhi’s commitment to animal welfare.
